Kodagu district in Karnataka has been the worst affected due to floods. State government officials along with NDRF, Army, Navy and Air Force are carrying out rescue operations. Heavy rains have been causing landslides in the area and the death toll has climbed up to 17. Hundreds of people are still stranded on various hillocks in the district. Telecom services have been disrupted and this is causing difficulty in rescue work. Relief camps have been set up to house those displaced by the floods.
