Sri A. Gopinath the founder Trustee of Karunya Bangalore is an experienced epitome in service to the society and a leftist thinker for social equality. He is the former Working president of ITI Employees Union, former General Secretary of Bangalore Kerala Samajam, former Trustee for KNE Trust and now the most familiar social worker of the city of Bangalore.
Nikitha, a final year degree student orphaned in childhood reacted first to Karunya. "It's easy for me to accept hunger, when I am are sure that I don’t have food. Not even a single meal a day. It was my way of life from childhood". Team - Karunya’s helping hands reached there!
Anitha, a widow with three kids residing in Bangalore alone and aloof, is going through even worst circumstances in the outburst of Covid19 Pandemic. Her answer to the consoling phone of Karunya was, "We are not dead yet sir". Then murmured "We are starving since two days, but happy and thankful to have your call Sir, we were expecting your call".
Karunya’s timely action made them happy to have food!
Karunya Bangalore is home to a large number of helpless people, including old aged, orphans, downtrodden, bedridden etc.
The strong determination and hard work of the tem of Karunya, with its firm decision not only to help once, but until they are self-sufficient and no longer dependent on anybody. About 400 children are now being continuesly educated by Karunya!
To know the needy, to extend a hand of sympathy and kindness and to pick them up are the continuing deeds that make Karunya unique from other organizations.
Many a times the noble and generous deeds of helping the needy are not published in newspaper or other Medias to safe guard the privacy of such recipients.
The distribution of food kits and medical assistance of Karunya is in full swing since last 14 months till today! Around Thousand grocery kits, medical aids and other Covid related helps worth of Rs.20/- lakhs were extended by KARUNYA to the deceased. Ambulance facilities and paramedics have been set up to transport patients and even dead bodies back to where they belong.
“With the second wave of Covid19, the misery of the society had increased. This made our task even tougher. Our historical efforts are still continuing. Many of our fellow human beings are expecting continued support from us. We are ready to serve them, with the support of our beloved donors – the real humanitarians” said Sri A Gopinath the Founder and Chairman of Karunya Bangalore.
